7/31/18 One of the Yellowstone to Yukon (Y2Y) targets for conservation is the Flathead River Valley that crosses into British Columbia. Here is a map of the area. The Flathead Wild coalition is really nothing more than Y2Y, CPAWS, Headwaters Montana, National Parks Conservation Association, Sierra Club, and Wildsight leaders forming their own little group with a different name, a front group of the same individuals trying to give the appearance of more support, and in which they engage in some political activity.
Their aim is to create a "... critical corridor for wildlife — including grizzlies, lynx, wolverines and more...", which means land protection and no use, and were able to get their objectives in the Flathead National Forest plan which was published in December 2017. They never identified who the other "constituencies" were in their plan involvement, the group most likely was outweighed by environmentalists rather than local citizens. In the map above the green areas are already protected, they want to extend that with the orange area. From there it will just continue, a section of land at a time, using wildlife as the excuse for their connectivity agenda, until the whole area is blocked from use by us.
